about the author

Ralynn Kimie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and is a Pisces. She has overcome many mental and physical health issues throughout her life which resulted in severe weight gain throughout her teenage years and early adulthood. While she has overcome her battle with obesity and has tamed her temper, she remains in a constant fight against Depression that she’s dealt with for over 20 years.

As a child, she hated reading until she saw the magic that Harry Potter brought to the big screen. Unable to wait to find out what happened next, she began picking up the books, which led her to dragging her father to the midnight releases and staying up all night to finish each installment.

Like most eleven year olds, she was disappointed to not receive a Hogwarts letter telling her she was a witch and would be whisked away to a magical school. However, reading opened her eyes to new worlds, and she realized books were their own kind of magic. Perhaps she could create her own.

Her first idea began in seventh grade when she was twelve, and later developed into The Chronicles of Ankoku. While she’s never really enjoyed writing in itself, it is the desire to tell a story that fuels the fire. She loves to world build, create outlines and plots, and develop characters more than the writing itself.

While she is a mixing pot of different ethnic backgrounds, she is mostly Japanese and Irish.

She’s Autistic and has Inattentive-ADHD, ODD, and Clinical Depression.

Ralynn Kimie is an advocate for Suicide Prevention, Asexual Awareness, Body Positivity, and Letters to Santa.
